Dear Members of the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce,
I hope this message finds you all in good health and high spirits as we enter the month of February. It's a pleasure to address you once again and share some important updates and thoughts for this month.
First off I want to thank Supreme Lending for hosting a fantastic mixer to kick off the new year and to all our members who came out to celebrate and support. It was a great night. I hope all of you will once again join us at our February Mixer to be held at The Crystal Salt Cave on Thursday February 15th.
February is often associated with love and kindness, with Valentine's Day just around the corner. As business leaders and members of our community, let’s show love and appreciation to our local businesses and colleagues. Supporting each other is essential for our collective growth and prosperity so consider one of our amazing chamber members when you are shopping for your special someone.
I want to take this opportunity to highlight the importance of collaboration within our chamber. Together, we can achieve more than we can individually. Consider becoming an Ambassador or joining one of the chamber’s subcommittees. We currently have subcommittees on education, BCI (Business Community Inclusion) and advocacy as well as the committees for all of your major community events like the Business Expo, La Gran Fiesta, Hometown Halloween and the Holiday Parade. The strength of our chamber lies in the unity of its members so please message Melisa at the office if you are interested.
This month, we will be celebrating the people and businesses that make Brentwood such a great community. On Saturday February 17th we will be hosting our Celebrating Brentwood’s Best of 2023 Gala at the Brentwood Community Center. After a month of nominations we will finally find out who won the honors of Citizen, Business, Non-Profit, Employee, Youth, Start-up and Volunteer of the 2023 Year. If you have not yet purchased your tickets for the night visit our website at https://rebrand.ly/2023Gala to purchase your tickets. This event will sell out quickly.
This year, we will be actively working on advocating for the interests of our local businesses at the city, county, state and national levels. Your feedback and insights are invaluable in shaping our advocacy efforts, so please don't hesitate to reach out with your suggestions and concerns. On the March ballot you will be voting on Prop 1 titled Treatment Not Tents. It is a mental health bill that would provide funding for the State to build mental health facilities and provide housing for homeless. As the Chamber is currently working on its Public Policy Platform it is prudent that we remain neutral on this proposition at this time so we have provided voter information at the end of the Clarion so you have the opportunity to read up on the proposition prior to voting.
In closing, I want to express my gratitude to each and every one of you for being a part of the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce. Together, we can overcome any challenges that come our way and continue to thrive as a vibrant and prosperous community. Wishing you all a productive and successful February!
